History

The White Notley Duck Race is a village event that has been running for many many years, organised and run by volunteers. This event is open to everyone with some great activities for all the family but most importantly raising money for some very good causes.  Over the years we have raised lots of money for Cancer charities and are also raising funds for a Village War Memorial for all wars and all that have lost their lives.

About the race

The Plastic yellow ducks are released at 11:00am at the drop off point behind the village hall and finish at the ford in Station Road.  The ducks race down the river Brain for about a mile before they are collected at the ford.  It is recommended that anybody wishing to buy a duck or ducks  on the day can do so as long as it is at least 30mins prior to finish, ducks will be available to buy from both start and end points, be mindful though as last year we sold out.  This year we are trying to make it bigger and better than last year and are also mindful of the costs for families so will make sure that the BBQ is affordable.  We will be selling food as follows: £3 Burgers , £2.50 Hot dogs and £3 Halloumi Burgers, sauces and condiments will be available.

We are always looking for extra help and ideas on how to entertain the little ones (and big ones) so please do put these ideas forward so we can make it an amazing day for all.   Anyone is welcome to attend the Duck Race meetings so just drop us a line so that we can let you know where and when these are held.

Please note:  Due to this being an extremely busy day for The Cross Keys pub, drinks will be served in plastic disposable glasses.  Feel free to bring your own glass if you wish.  Thanks for your understanding.
